    Why organisations run this.

    Cohesion

    Glue after the reorg

New team shapes need shared history fast. Three days of solving real problems together builds what six months of standups can't.

    Velocity

    Trust ships faster

Teams that have hauled a raft together escalate less and hand off more cleanly, the retreat pays back in fewer cross-team stalls.

    Signal

    People feel invested in

A well-run retreat tells the team the company spends on them, not just on them working. It shows up in engagement scores the next quarter.

    3 nights, Coorg

    Day 1

    Arrive and unplug

Transfers from Bangalore, check-in at a plantation resort, evening walk through the estate, and a fireside dinner with a light icebreaker, no lanyards, no slides.

    Day 2

    The challenge day

Morning raft-build and river crossing in mixed squads, afternoon plantation treasure trail, evening barbecue where the day's photos run on a loop.

    Day 3

    Think, then celebrate

Optional strategy morning, a working session while it's quiet, then a coffee-estate lunch, free afternoon, and the bonfire night that becomes the retreat's photograph.

    Day 4

    Slow exit

Late breakfast, group photo, and staggered transfers back. A highlights film reaches the team channel before they're back at their desks.

Two engineers who hadn't exchanged ten words all year built a raft together. The standoffs between their teams quietly stopped after we got back.

    Planning questions, answered.

How do you handle mixed fitness levels?

Every challenge block runs in bands, the same activity at two or three intensity levels, chosen on the day. Nobody sits out, nobody is forced past their comfort, and squads are mixed so the bands don't become cliques.

    What about safety and insurance?

Adventure blocks run only with certified operators, safety briefings, and equipment checks; we assist with group travel insurance that covers adventure activities, and every itinerary carries a weather backup plan.

Can we mix in actual work sessions?

Yes, the most common format is one working morning inside a three-day retreat. We set up the room, AV, and print; you bring the agenda. More than a morning and it stops being a retreat.

    What group sizes work?

10 to 200. Under 10 we'd suggest folding into a leadership-offsite format; above 60 we split challenge blocks into rotating squads so activities keep their intensity.

How much lead time do we need?

Domestic retreats turn around in 6–10 weeks. Peak windows, December, long weekends, post-appraisal quarters, fill earliest, so date-lock before venue shortlisting.
