Day by Day

Day 1
Arrive into Athens- Capital City of Greece. After arrival get transferred to your hotel and check-in to your hotel. Relax for the day or explore the city on your own. Overnight stay at the hotel in Athens. Athens is the capital of Greece. It was also at the heart of Ancient Greece, a powerful civilization and empire. The city is still dominated by 5th-century BC landmarks, including the Acropolis, a hilltop citadel topped with ancient buildings like the colonnaded Parthenon temple.

Day 2
After having breakfast at the hotel, today proceed for half day Athens city tour. This tour gives you an opportunity to observe the striking contrasts that make Athens such a fascinating city. Our expert guides will take you to see the Panathenaic Stadium where the first Olympic Games of modern times were held in 1896 (short stop). Continue and pass by the Prime Minister's residence (ex. Royal Palace) guarded by the Euzones in their colorful uniform, the Temple of Olympian Zeus, the Hadrian's Arch, the Parliament and the memorial to the Unknown Soldier, the Academy, the University, the National Library, the Constitution Square (Syntagma). On the Acropolis visit the Architectural Masterpieces of the Golden Age of Athens: The Propylaea, the Temple of Athena Nike, the Erechtheion and finally "the harmony between material and spirit", the monument that "puts order in the mind", the Parthenon. Continue and visit the place where at last the statues found their home and admire the wonders of the classical era: The new Acropolis museum. Overnight stay in hotel in Athens.

Day 3
After having breakfast get transferred to the port for your ferry boat to Mykonos. Arrive into Mykonos and transfer to your hotel. Check -in to the hotel. Overnight stay at hotel in Mykonos. Mykonos is an island in the Cyclades group in the Aegean Sea. It's popularly known for its summer party atmosphere. Beaches such as Paradise and Super Paradise have bars that blare thumping music. Massive dance clubs attract world-renowned DJs and typically stay open well past dawn. Iconic landmarks include a row of 16th-century windmills, which sit on a hill above Mykonos town.

Day 4
After having breakfast at the hotel. Proceed for Mykonos Walking Tour. This tour sweeps through the medieval town of Mykonos also known as the “chora”, being famous as a cosmopolitan island due to the lifestyle and a variety of visitors all around the world, Mykonos’ traditional way of life is dearly reflected within its city limits, inside which we offer an authentic walking tour throughout some often unappreciated sites by many of its visitors. We offer you an opportunity of a lifetime to experience first-hand the true beauty of the Mykonian town, by walking you through its history and re-living some of its past memories. The wonderful walk through the unknown alleys and the secret corners of Mykonos town through which our guide will accompany you and share his knowledge and stories, begins at the well-known location of the Archaeological museum and the Remezzo restaurant (where the entrance of the old town is), close to the old port, which is the starting point of the walking tour. Crossing the narrow winding paths, through the castle of the Chora and the Scarpa area where ‘Little Venice’ is located, which is famous for its picturesque medieval two storey houses (you will have 15 minutes free time here), you can admire the elaborate church of “Panagia Paraportiani”, one of the most famous architectural structures in Greece and get to see the Folklore Museum. Finally, we head back to our starting point and pass by the famous Agios Nikolaos church at the old port.

Day 5
After having breakfast at the hotel, today proceed from Mykonos to Santorini. Transfer to port for your speed boat to Santorini. Arriving by sea is the best way, as the full impact of the cliffs and Caldera are best seen from a boat. Arrive to hotel in Santorini. Check-in to your hotel. Overnight stay at hotel in Santorini.

Day 6
After having breakfast at the hotel. Starting by bus from the pick-up point, we arrive at the port of Athinios, where you will board the boat and start our trip with destination the Volcano, a distance of about 15-20 minutes. Your stay there is for about 1 hour and 15 minutes. To walk up to the volcano to meet the active craters is about 20 minutes through a walkable path. It is worth reaching the top because when you arrive there, if you scratch the surface you will see steam coming out, smell the sulfur and also to take pictures. After the visit of Nea Kameni, the boat continues to the island of Palaia Kameni where the Hot Springs are located. The water temperature is 30-35 degrees but it constantly mixes with seawater. The boat remains here for about 30 minutes for swimming. It's quite a time since there is no beach on the small island where you can stay for a while. In continuation of the tour, the boat sails to the island of Thirassia. You have 2 hours free time to swim in the crystal waters of Korfos or eating in traditional taverns with different dishes of the island. You can go on foot or by donkeys up to the village of Manolas, which is very picturesque with narrow streets and nice view to Santorini and worth a visit. After the 2 hour pleasant break on the island of Thirassia, we start to return back to Athinios port sailing near the volcanic Caldera cliffs to take pictures of the unique scenery. At Athinios, our bus will be waiting to take us directly to Oia village where you will have free time to walk through the narrow streets, take pictures of the mesmerizing scenery and watch the famous sunset. Right after the sunset we will return - again by bus - back to the original starting points.

Day 7
After having breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the airport for your flight back home, having the best impression from your trip! ***END OF TOUR***

Things to Look Out For
Book the fast ferry early
The Cyclades run on ferries, and the fast catamarans between Mykonos and Santorini sell out in high summer. Book the crossing the moment your dates are fixed, not on arrival. The fast boats do the hop in a couple of hours; the slow ones take most of a day. Sit inside in a meltemi wind, when the open Aegean gets choppy enough to spoil the deck.
The Oia sunset is a scrum
Everyone on Santorini converges on Oia for the famous sunset, and the lane to the castle ruins becomes a slow-moving crowd an hour before. Either claim a spot. Or a bar terrace with a view. Well ahead, or skip the scrum entirely and watch from Imerovigli or your own caldera-side hotel. The light is the same; the elbows are optional.
Eat where the menu has no pictures
The tavernas right on the Mykonos and Santorini photo-spots charge for the view and cook to the crowd. Walk two streets back, find the place with handwritten Greek-only specials and locals at the tables, and the grilled fish, the horiatiki, the slow-cooked lamb are a different order of good. Lunch is the long, late meal here; dinner starts after nine.

Plan Your Timing
Greece in the islands is a shoulder-season country. May into June, and September into early October, give you warm sea, open tavernas and bearable crowds. The sweet spot. July and August are hot and packed, with the meltemi wind whipping the Aegean and Santorini's lanes shoulder-to-shoulder; go then only if school holidays force it. Athens and the mainland sights are fine year-round, but winter on the islands is wet and quiet, with many hotels and ferries shut down until spring.
