The typhoon calendar
The wet season runs roughly June to November, and that is also when typhoons come through. Most often July to October. They rarely ruin a whole trip, but a storm can ground island flights for a day or two. If your plan hops between islands, build in a buffer day, and don't book the tightest connections in the back half of the year.

When to Go
The Philippines has two seasons. The dry season, December to April, is the time to go. Sunny, calm seas, the islands at their best, with the cooler end around December to February. May is the hot run-up to the rains. The wet season, June to November, brings the southwest monsoon and the typhoons, heaviest July to October; it is greener and quieter, but island-hopping gets unreliable, so plan with buffer days if you travel then.
