A small note
on how we work.
Tibro has been routing the UAE since 2012. Thirteen years of layover-Dubais, family-Dubais, desert overnights, and the occasional Abu Dhabi cultural-day pinned onto a Dubai diary.
We work with a Dubai-based partner desk run by Layla (originally at the Burj Al Arab concierge) and our Abu Dhabi liaison who handles the cultural-day add-ons. Layla maintains a list of which hotels have been refreshed in the past dry season and which are coasting on a 2018 refurbishment.
Hotels in the UAE are a freshness problem. The bones are excellent across the spectrum, but the soft-furnishings half-life is short. We refuse to send people to properties more than four years past their last refit without a personal walkthrough by Layla.
Ten routes is what we currently maintain. The desert-overnight add-on is the one we are most opinionated about. Most camps that look glamorous in marketing are tired in reality. We list three.

Dazzling Dubai 5 Nights, five nights, December 2024
The studio talked us out of a Marina hotel and into a Downtown one. Layla said the latter would suit the way we travel, and she was right. The Burj Khalifa private hour was the studio's idea, not ours; it had been a quiet moment in a famously loud city. The desert overnight on night three set the pace for the rest of the trip. We are returning next December for the seven-night version.

Family Dubai with Yas Island, six nights, April 2024
Two children, nine and twelve. The studio split the trip three nights Dubai-Atlantis, two nights Yas Island, one Abu Dhabi cultural day. The transitions were a private car each time, no metro confusion, no surprise charges. The Ferrari World day was day five. Layla had it timed for the off-peak window between two weekend rushes.

Dubai short break, two nights, March 2024
Two nights between flights. The studio still designed the trip. A sunrise Burj morning, a private gold-souk walk after midnight on day two with a guide who has been working that lane for thirty years. We came back with photos a layover should not produce. We will be using Tibro for the next trip too.
